Indian Americans call for action amid rising hate and violent attacks
In a letter addressed to civic officials and federal, state and local law enforcement the diaspora organizations have urged them to take measures to ensure the safety of the Indian American community.

In view of the rising attacks on Indian Consulates and Embassies in San Francisco, CA, London, UK and Brisbane, Australia the Indian diaspora community in the U.S. has called on officials to ensure the safety of the community that is struck with fear.
In a signed letter a number of diaspora organisations have condemned the recent instances of vandalism and appealed to the community to be cautious of hate groups as well as report them to the administration. The initiative was by the 'Indian Diaspora Against Hate’, a forum that brings together Indian American organizations from various backgrounds (cultural, linguistic and religious) across the country.
According to a news release, the letter also urges the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice to monitor extremists activities, prevent hateful attacks and take decisive action against perpetrators of hate.
Commenting on the growing instances of the Hinduphobic attacks, Dr. Japra, Cardiologist and community leader said, “Many Hindu community leaders have been threatened and they even attacked my residence recentlyâ€
“Indian Americans are increasingly concerned about the lack of safety for Indian American institutions in the wake of these attacks,†Venu M, a Hindu Leader from California State Capitol Sacramento added.
The organizations in the letter welcomed the statement of the US State Department condemning the attack against the Indian Consulate at San Francisco. It also appreciated the statement of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, rejecting hatred and attacks on Hindu Temples.
ZEE5 Global unveiled the trailer of their upcoming original film Saali Mohabbat on Nov, 26.
Marking Tisca Chopra’s directorial debut, the film will premiere on Dec. 12, exclusively on ZEE5 Global.
The how-dunnit thriller features an ensemble cast featuring Radhika Apte, Divyenndu Sharma, Anurag Kashyap, Anshumaan Pushkar, Sharat Saxena, Sauraseni Maitra and a special cameo performance by Kusha Kapila.
The film has been produced by Jio Studios and Manish Malhotra’s Stage5 Production. The movie drew strong appreciation at IFFI (International Film Festival of India) and the Chicago South Asian Film Festival ahead of its global launch.

The plot revolves around Smita, played by Radhika Apte, a reclusive gardener leading a quiet, sheltered life with her plants and routine, and is thrust into turmoil when a brutal double murder disrupts the town’s calm. As a police investigation exposes buried secrets and suspicions, Smita is dragged from her cocoon into a web of motives and hidden truths, becoming one of the prime suspects. Forced to confront a chaotic world, she fights to protect her fragile sanity while the question looms: is she an innocent bystander or the keeper of the crime’s darkest secret?
Talking about the upcoming thriller, Radhika Apte shared, “The trailer captures the unsettling stillness of Smita’s world. Playing her meant sitting with emotions that aren’t always easy to define, and that challenge was incredibly rewarding. Tisca’s guidance helped me find that fragile balance between quiet vulnerability and hidden strength."
