eVTOL operations set for launch in India by 2027
The companies expect to collaborate in specific areas that are critical to support future short-haul mobility operations.

Co-founder and chairman of the AIRO Group, Chirinjeev Kathuria, the first Indian-American to run for the US Senate, along with Surendra Ajjarapu, chief executive officer of Kernel Group holding, through its subsidiary Electric Air Mobility Division, Jaunt Air Mobility LLC (“Jauntâ€), signed an agreement with India's Fly Blade Private Limited (“BLADE Indiaâ€) to establish electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft operations in India and the subcontinent region by 2027.
According to the agreement, BLADE India intends to purchase 150 Jaunt Journey aircraft, with the possibility of ordering an additional 100 aircraft to accommodate demand over the following ten years.
“Jaunt’s MOU with BLADE India demonstrates AIRO’s commitment to bringing innovative air mobility solutions to the people of India,†stated Dr Chirinjeev Kathuria, Chairman and co-founder of AIRO.
Suren Ajjarapu, Chairman and CEO of Kernel Group Holdings, Inc., states, “The news of the MOU between BLADE India and AIRO’s Electric Air Mobility division provides a roadmap for integrating eVTOLs into the global transportation market.â€
The all-electric Jaunt Journey, developed by the international aerospace business Jaunt, combines the characteristics of a helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft while emphasizing safety, low noise, and operational effectiveness. Jaunt is working to have its aircraft certified in the Transport Category, which is the same as what commercial aeroplanes have.
The businesses anticipate working together in several crucial areas that will assist upcoming short-haul mobility activities. In particular, their plans call for BLADE India to study the development of critical infrastructure capabilities in aircraft charging and energy distribution technologies with Jaunt and its partners.
BLADE India's short-haul operational and customer experience will also be used by Jaunt to enhance the development of the Jaunt Journey aircraft and its integration into Indian airspace.

૧૯૮૧માં કેમિકલ એન્જિનિયરિંગમાં બીએસની ડિગ્રી મેળવનાર હેમંત ગોરડિયાએ ચાર દાયકા કરતાં વધુ સમય પહેલાં ન્યૂયોર્કમાં પોતાના પારિવારિક નાના વેપારમાં જોડાયા હતા. સમય જતાં તેમણે વિનમારને આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય કંપની બનાવી અને બે દાયકા સુધી સીઇઓ તરીકે સેવા આપી, ત્યારબાદ રોકાણ અને બિન-નફાકારક ક્ષેત્રે નેતૃત્વ સંભાળ્યું.
હાલ તેઓ ગેલોગ્લી કોલેજ ઓફ એન્જિનિયરિંગના બોર્ડ ઓફ વિઝિટર્સમાં સભ્ય તરીકે યુનિવર્સિટીને શૈક્ષણિક કાર્યક્રમો, સંશોધન પ્રાથમિકતાઓ અને વિદ્યાર્થી વિકાસ અંગે વ્યૂહાત્મક સલાહ આપી રહ્યા છે.
પત્ની ઇન્દ્રાણી ગોરડિયા સાથે મળીને તેમણે ટેક્સાસ ચિલ્ડ્રન્સ હોસ્પિટલ કેન્સર સેન્ટરમાં સંશોધન ફેલોશિપ સ્થાપી છે અને OUના અનેક એન્જિનિયરિંગ તેમજ શિક્ષણ કાર્યક્રમોને ટેકો આપ્યો છે.
પ્રથમ USA દ્વારા ભારતમાં વંચિત બાળકો માટે સાક્ષરતા કાર્યક્રમોને પ્રોત્સાહન આપીને લાખો બાળકો સુધી શિક્ષણની પહોંચ વધારવામાં પણ તેમનું મહત્વનું યોગદાન છે.
સમારોહમાં સાર્વજનિક સેવા, વ્યવસાય અને ટેક્નોલોજી ક્ષેત્રે યોગદાન આપનાર અન્ય સાત ભૂતપૂર્વ વિદ્યાર્થીઓને પણ સન્માનિત કરાયા હતા. યુનિવર્સિટી અધિકારીઓએ આ તમામ સન્માનિત વ્યક્તિઓના કાર્યને OUની વિવિધ ક્ષેત્રો, સમુદાયો અને વૈશ્વિક નેટવર્ક પર લાંબા ગાળાના પ્રભાવના પુરાવા તરીકે રજૂ કર્યા છે.
